Development Authorities ask Emanuel County to assist with cancellation of bonds that remain on hold

The Swainsboro/Emanuel County Joint Development Authorities have elected to ask the Emanuel County Commission to assist with the defeasance of $2.5 million in bonds that has been set aside for the proposed plant that Huber Engineered Woods LLC (HEW) had hoped to build in Emanuel County. In layman’s terms, the defeasance of bonds renders such bonds null and void.
